High School Students Receive Dual Credit Scholarship

High School Students Receive Dual Credit Scholarship

Burgin Independent High School is proud to announce that 37 students have received financial support through the Mercer County Community High School Dual Credit Scholarship for the Fall 2025 semester. Collectively, students were awarded $17,543.00 to assist with the cost of college-level coursework.

This scholarship is made possible through the generosity of Carol Conover, a dedicated supporter of dual credit education who is committed to increasing access to higher education opportunities for students throughout Mercer County. The scholarship is open to any county high school student enrolled in dual credit courses through Campbellsville University.

Burgin students used the scholarship to earn college credit in English, Biology, and Global Environmental Sciences, with one student also enrolling in online dual credit courses offered by Campbellsville University.

Students are pictured alongside Conover Education Center's Interim Director Kimberly Steele, dual credit instructors Dr. Paul Brooks and Mrs. Theresa Brooks, Superintendent Chris LeMonds, Assistant High School Principal Brent Wagner, and Transition Readiness and Guidance Counselor Travis Kern.

Burgin Independent School extends our sincere appreciation to Carol Conover and to Mr. Chris LeMonds and Mr. Travis Kern for their continued support of dual credit education and student success.
